Pair Programming with an Asshole

Hold your ground, ship good code, and survive pairing with Chuck.

NEW GAME PRESS START

What You Are About To Play

You are pairing through five JavaScript tickets with Chuck, a brilliant coworker who is technically useful and socially corrosive.

You will need to fix code under pressure, answer Chuck when he interrupts you, and decide whether to absorb, deflect, obey, or push back.

How The Run Works

  • Each round starts with a stylized Jira ticket.
  • Chuck comments before you are allowed into the IDE.
  • Inside the IDE, you must actually write the fix.
  • Chuck can halt the session until you answer him.
  • Your ending depends on technical integrity, psychological safety, and self-respect.
